Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2022-02-03

At Lookup, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our website and data analysis tool.

  1. Personal information

We only collect personal information that is necessary to provide our services to you. This information is collected with your knowledge and consent, and we will explain to you why we are collecting it and how it will be used.

We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide you with our services. We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your personal information from loss, theft, and unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.

You are free to refuse our request for your personal information, but please note that this may limit our ability to provide you with all of our services.

If you are an EU resident, you have the right to request all the personal information we have about you at any time, as well as the right to have this information deleted, as provided for under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We will also honor these rights for non-EU residents.

  2. Service-specific information

To provide our data analysis tool, we may collect certain information about your use of the tool and the data you import into it. This information is used solely to improve the performance of the tool and is not shared with third parties.

  3. How we handle imported data

When you import data into Lookup, your data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 in the us-east-1 region. It is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit via TLS to ensure the security and privacy of your data.

Only metadata (e.g. column names) and sample data (e.g. first few rows of your data) are sent to our servers to enable AI-generated instructions for computation. The computation of your data is performed locally on your device so your unencrypted data does not touch our servers.

We take the protection of your data seriously, and have implemented strict security measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your data while it is in our care.

If you have any questions or concerns about how your data is handled in Lookup, please don't hesitate to contact us.

  4. Third parties

We don't share any user data publicly or with third-parties, except when required to by law. To date this has never been requested.

We use a few third-party scripts to provide certain services, such as payment processing and product analytics. These third parties have privacy policies that align with our own values, and we share only non-personal data with them.

We believe that by following these rules we can keep your data as safe as possible, but if you have any suggestions on how we can improve then let us know!

If you have any questions about our privacy policy or the information we collect about you, please do not hesitate to contact us at: [email protected]. Your continued use of our website and services indicates your acceptance of this privacy policy.
